FELINE PERIODONTAL DISEASE

Stage 1: Early Periodontal Disease
- Minimal plaque and/or calculus on teeth
- Red and swollen gums with no tooth attachment loss
- Removing plaque and cleaning under the gum line will save teeth
- REVERSIBLE CONDITION
Stage 2: Moderate Periodontal Disease
- Plaque and/or calculus on teeth
- Red, swollen and painful gums; as well as bad breath
- Loss of tooth attachment up to 25%
- POTENTIALLY REVERSABLE MAY REQUIER EXTRACTIONS
Stage3: Severe Periodontal Disease
- Significant calculus on teeth
- Severe gingivitis causing painful and bleeding gums
- Decaying enamel resulting in painful nerve exposure
- Loss of tooth attachment greater than 50%
- PERMANENT DAMAGE WILL REQUIRE EXTRACTIONS
